In 2014, Xinchao Energy launched a new development strategy, positioning its future core development focus on the exploration, exploitation and sales of overseas oil and natural gas. The company successively acquired conventional oilfield assets in Crosby County, as well as shale oil reservoir assets in Howard and Borden Counties, all located in the state of Texas, USA.
Both oilfield assets are situated in the core area of the Permian Basin—a region boasting the highest-quality shale oil and gas resources, the lowest extraction costs and the strongest growth in shale oil production in the United States. By the end of 2018, the 1P reserves (proven developed reserves) of these oilfield assets had reached 271 million barrels.
